Journey (Wasteland Requiem)
----------------------------------

1. Through pitch of night I did stumble,
2. Past headstones of friends I did fumble.

3. Over muck and mire and stagnant streams,
4. Through hellish visions from wretched dreams.

5. To ancient woods of weeping willow,
6. Whose suffering did rise and billow.

7. On and up the faithless hills,
8. Each side a track littered with pills.

9. And the stars glared down from a midnight sky
10. While the ragged clouds slid mutely by.

11. And above crows gathered in murderous flock,
12. While apparitions did point and mock.

13. Past fallen statues long lost their sheen,
14. Their downcast eyes long lost their gleam.

15. As the rain relentless fell in sheets,
16. It stung my weathered ashen cheeks.

17. To scattered ruins bearing My name,
18. To He who was pronounced insane.

19. And the west wind timeless gusted strong and cold,
20. As the west wind laid waste My young to old.
